We give veg scraps to our cows. The meat endings are cooked and given to our various farm yard cats. Why anyone though it was a good idea to give meat to herbivores us beyond me. Lovely recipe. Thank you

Perhaps you would consider Ivy. Graceful, drooping, and ironically, when I looked up 'nettles' the internet offered 'stinging nettle' and 'poison ivy'. Yours is a much NICER Ivy.... and I doubt her mom was the stinging variety, either!

That seems rather overpriced for a provincial hotel, with what seems to be rather limited facilities. I didn’t see Bath Robes and Slippers or a fridge or the offer of fresh milk, the view out was non existent. The breakfast wasn’t cooked to order. You had to stay in an adjoining building which lacked the character of the main hotel.

I was a Student Nurse here many years ago on the Margaret Dryburgh ward.....good times....this was a lovely hospital....good old fashioned nurses and good old fashioned nursing care....shame to see hospitals like these going .

My dad used to make this when I was growing up in the 70s. It was delicious with bread and butter or a cream cracker. He didn't use parsley or lemon. The lard is BETTER than anything bought in the shop. It makes a bacon sandwich taste amazing!! Thankyou for taking me back to a wonderful time in my life. 😊

Hi, thank you. Did your grandparents say how much they had to take per day to stay healthy with the Vitamin C? I know that rose hip syrup can be made with dried rose hips after re-constituting them, but will that still be a good source of Vitamin C as well or less due to them having dried? I'm not supposed to have sugar due to insulin resistance but I can use an alternative sweetener to make this and I was thinking I could do this to keep up with Vitamin C content since lemons are tart (I'd still add some though) and I can't have the oranges due to too much fructose in it. Also, what do you do with all that pulp afterwards? Wouldn't it be better to scoop out the seeds so that the rosehip pulp can be used for something else?

Is it more like picalilli I thought chutney was cooked with sultanas for 3 to 4 hours until nearly all the liquid had evaporated
